This desire became the foundation of his entire life. Despite his gentle heart, Whitebeard was a monstrous force in combat. His Gura Gura no Mi, the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, granted him the power to create earthquakes capable of destroying islands and even shaking the sea itself. It was said that Whitebeard possessed the ability to destroy the world, and this was no exaggeration. Yet he never used his power recklessly. When Ace, his beloved second division commander, was captured by the Marines and sentenced to execution, Whitebeard’s response defined his character. Despite his old age and declining health, he launched an all-out war at Marineford to save his son. This event, known as the Paramount War, became one of the most iconic moments in One Piece history.
At Marineford, Whitebeard faced the full might of the World Government — the Navy Admirals, the Warlords of the Sea, and even the cunning strategies of Sengoku and Akainu. Despite the overwhelming odds, Whitebeard showed the world why he was the strongest man alive. He fought through severe injuries, disease, and betrayal from within his ranks.
